This Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Refresher course will refresh the knowledge of qualified first aiders, where a risk assessment has deemed this level suitable, so they have a fundamental awareness of how to deliver first aid. Taking yearly refresher training is recommended to keep a first aider's understanding up to date in between their required practical training sessions. The course covers a range of fundamental information needed to help emergency first aiders fulfil their role, including primary and secondary surveys, full body examinations, the recovery position, administering CPR, using an AED, and treating certain injuries.

On completion of this course, your first aid knowledge will be refreshed in all these topics, which will enable you to provide first aid to casualties in your workplace and continue fulfilling your role confidently and safely.

Does this course allow me to become a qualified First-Aider?

No, this course does not make you a qualified first aider. Rather, it is designed to refresh qualified first aiders' knowledge in between their practical training. Refresher training is recommended once a year and practical training is required every three years. This course is not a substitute for practical training. If you are looking for training to become a qualified first aider, you must receive practical training.

This online Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) Refresher course is our most suitable first aid training in the following scenarios:

  • If you have in-date first aid qualifications requiring annual refresher training.
  • If your risk assessment has identified your workplace has low level hazards and you employ less than 50 people.
  • If your risk assessment has identified your workplace has high level hazards but serious injuries are unlikely.

This course is also suitable for those who already hold a door supervisor or security guarding SIA licence and have previously taken a practical Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification course but need an annual refresher course.

If you do not have an in-date first aid qualification but require training for a workplace with low level hazards then our Workplace First Aid Course will be more suitable.

This course is only designed for treating adult casualties, so if you need training for administering first aid to infants and children, have a look at our Paediatric First Aid course.
