Our colleagues make us who we are and everyone’s role in building our success is valued. We’re committed to being a safe, inclusive and inspiring place to work where everyone is celebrated for themselves and supported to be their best.
We want our business to be strengthened by diversity and to create an environment where everyone is included and accepted for who they are. To achieve this, we:
These are challenging times for everyone and we want to support colleagues as much as we can. We’re proud to have been formally accredited as a Living Wage Employer back in 2019 and constantly a part of the Living Wage Foundation movement since then. We also voluntarily choose to pay above the real London Living Wage.
We fully support our colleagues to work in a flexible way that lets them be at their best, whether that’s on-site at either our Ilkley head office, our dedicated office space in central Leeds, at business lounges across the country or based remotely anywhere in the UK. Our ‘remote first’ policy means we want everyone to work where they are happiest and most productive and we provide everyone with the set up they’ll need to do this. We truly are a team beyond our four walls.
Colleagues have the right to request flexible working from the first day of their employment and we also have a ‘Workation Policy’ enabling colleagues to work for up to 4 weeks from a location abroad each year.
As a team beyond our four walls, we want to provide support to colleagues at that special time through our family friendly policies. This includes company maternity and adoption pay being paid at the full rate of your normal basic salary for the first 26 weeks and company paternity pay being paid at the full rate of your normal basic salary for 6 weeks.
We prioritise the mental health and wellbeing of our colleagues and demonstrate this commitment with several company-wide initiatives:
Our company cares about disadvantage and we actively give back to our communities through our monthly charitable donations, match-funding staff fundraising initiatives and working together to raise money for causes that help people to thrive.
In September 2022 we embarked on a huge challenge to walk the entire way around the equator (58,435,404 steps) in two months as a team to raise money for Read Easy UK. The charity helps adults across the UK who cannot read or who have low literacy levels to read confidently. Despite not making it the whole way round the globe we were able to donate an incredible £6,500 which has enabled Read Easy to open up a new group in the Wakefield area in West Yorkshire.
