Hi Karen,

If they are handling food directly, I would advise that they all receive level 2 training too. While the hands on training you give to them is no doubt useful, a certified training course will complete their knowledge, give them full confidence in their abilities, and act as evidence of compliance. You never know when you might get an inspection, and if they’re seen to be working with food and don’t have clear evidence of training, it could cause a problem!

We provide an online Level 2 Food Hygiene training course that is CPD, ROSPA, and Industry of Hospitality approved. It’s also been reviewed by past EHOs, and we always keep it up to date with current legal requirements. Learners receive a certificate at the end that acts as evidence that they received the training. You can have a look at the following link if you’re interested in purchasing it for your staff:

I hope that helps! All the best for your cafe.
Liz

IÔÇÖm a supervisor for a cafe which also does childrenÔÇÖs parties. I have a level 2 certificate.
When I am off shift there is no one else who has any food handling certificate and only have the hands on training I give them at the start of their employment and ongoing while on shift.
Is this enough or does everyone need a food hygiene certificate.
