It’s really hard to say what the chances are that it’d be in other apartments in the complex. In some cases the asbestos may have been removed from other areas while in others it may have been left alone. It will depend on the risk identified by the landlord and/or building owner. In terms of disclosure that also really depends on the situation.

I realise that’s probably not very useful to you! It may be worth speaking to your local authority or to the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) if you need further advice.
